IPSI Project Partners Meet in Sunny Pesaro to Focus on Inclusion and Equal Opportunities in the Workplace

Last week, an international meeting of IPSI project partners took place in the Italian city of Pesaro. Representatives of organizations from Italy, the Netherlands, and the Czech Republic came together for a joint training session to share experiences and strengthen their competencies in diversity, equality, and inclusion in the workplace.
The main objective of the meeting was to provide education and practical training focused on supporting the LGBTQ+ community in professional environments. Participants gained a deeper understanding of the correct use of terminology related to LGBTQ+ topics and discussed ways to foster respectful, open, and inclusive communication in the workplace.
A significant part of the programme was dedicated to discussions on different forms of discrimination. The partners explored the distinctions between direct and indirect discrimination and also addressed the issue of workplace harassment. Through practical examples drawn from real-life workplace situations, they analysed challenges that both employees and employers may encounter and identified effective ways to prevent them.
Considerable attention was given to identifying concrete measures that organizations can implement to create more inclusive, safe, and fair working environments for all employees, regardless of their sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, or other personal characteristics. Discussions focused on topics such as internal policies, communication practices, organizational culture, and support mechanisms for employees facing difficult situations.
The programme also included activities aimed at addressing gender-based stereotypes and prejudices. Together, the partners identified common stereotypes that can influence employers’ decisions and interpersonal relationships in the workplace and explored strategies to reduce their impact. The discussions highlighted that recognizing one’s own biases is one of the key steps toward creating genuinely equal opportunities.
The meeting in Pesaro provided participants with valuable knowledge, inspiration, and practical tools that can be applied in their everyday work. Over the coming months, IPSI project partners will share these newly acquired insights with HR professionals and personnel specialists across the Zlín Region. The goal is to support employers in creating workplaces built on respect, equal opportunities, and safety for all employees.
